A huge responsibility
Raising boys is a lot of work and a lot of fun. As a young mom I watch my boys play and learn and I do my best to teach them. I teach them so that they will one day be responsible contributing members of society, Godly husbands, and loving fathers. I teach them to love the Lord, honor people and respect themselves. Recently the weight of this job has become much more evident. The Spokane city council has ruled that it is not against the law to be nearly naked in public. Things such as Topless Tuesday are becoming more and more common in our country and it's not uncommon for my sons to see topless woman smoking outside a coffee stand as I sit at a red light. Children are being desensitized to things that were once protected and sacred. This realization is heavy on me today. I know that I can not shelter my sons from the world. New " Common Core" practices will be introducing our children to explicit material while they are still learning simple division. James 1:5 says that if we lack wisdom we should ask and the Lord and He will give it. well Lord, please give us wisdom to raise men with a godly view of themselves and their generation.

Baked Corn dogs
Is it just me or do all families experience a virtual world war at every meal? Seriously, getting my toddlers to eat anything not loaded with sugar or chemicals is almost impossible. Recently I had a great coupon for Corn dogs, a food I never buy, mostly because I hate them, but also because as a family on a budget they are not worth the cost to me. Since then, it seems to be all they want to eat (besides peanut butter by the spoonful). Here is my healthy-er solution to friend dough and hot dogs.
Baked Corn dogs
Grab a package of your favorite corn bread or make a batch from scratch. Our family favorite is Marie Callenders with Honey.
Dice up 4-6 raw hot dogs, ( we use turkey dogs)
I added a cup of shredded cheese and mixed everything together
bake in a muffin tin, if you are not using cupcake papers make sure to spray the pan with non stick cooking spray. Lastly bake for 12 min ( or follow baking directions on your cornbread )
I will try to share more toddler friendly meals as I find them.

Parenting is hard work
Our twin boys are 2 weeks old and we are doing all we
can to keep them alive. The love and attention that their older brothers need brings
many challenges. As I watch three year old Noah give Sawyer his twelfth kiss in
row, I can’t help but watch the germs escape and cover my baby’s flawless head.
I find myself wondering will we get through this stage with all of our children
alive? As our two year old tries to pick up a baby and bring him to me, or
while cooking dinner in the kitchen I hear sweet Noah whisper, “ CJ baby wants
to swing higher” Every day an adventure
It's a wonderful life
Four years ago the Flewelling family began a crazy
adventure. Like many stories it started with a boy and a girl. A few months
after they began their happily ever after, the story began to get interesting.
They learned that they would have a bouncing baby boy. Joy filled their home as
they prepared for the birth of Noah. Just a few months after Noah joined their
family they were shocked to learn that they were expecting baby boy #2. CJ was
born a short 10 months after Noah and they were best friends from the very start. The family was so
happy, but missing something, before CJ turned 2 years old, the family
decided it was time to try for one last baby, a baby girl. To their surprise
they were blessed with identical twin boys, Sawyer and Ryker.
…
and that is where we find ourselves. Four little boys, under four years old, in less than four years of marriage. I never thought I would have four children before my
28th birthday, or that our family would grow so quickly after our marriage.
Needless to say, we are in over our heads, but so full of joy. Above all we are
thankful to the Lord for trusting us with these gifts.
